The first cloned mule

Idaho Gem is the first of the equine family in to be clone and the first cloned mule in the world. Idaho Gem was born on May 4 in Idaho. This mule is the copy of his brother, a champion racing mule called Taz. This mule was made inserting the DNA from the skin of a foetus in an empty egg from a horse. The credit for this amazing achievement is to Gordon Woods and his team at University of Idaho. They think it will be easier to clone horses and that could have huge implications, because in the racing horse breeding exist to many random factors for to get a horse with the characteristics that they are looking for, and many people bet in horse racing. But exist a traditional conservatism for to protect the vast and lucrative industry that wants to keep the horse breeding just as it is.
